Miss K, age 20, suffered terribly from bloating. This could occur at any time of the day and was embarrassing as she felt she looked ‘6 months pregnant’.

Her bowel movements were regular but her eating habits were quite irregular. A Screening identified some huge food intolerances and looking through her diet she was basically eating only these foods every day. A food intolerance can take up to 72 hours to appear and so can be quite difficult to pinpoint if keeping a food diary. We spoke at length about alternative foods and Miss K felt that she could accomplish the dietary changes for the required 6 weeks. I also identified an imbalance in amylase and good bacteria which was supplemented throughout this period. I picked up on a parasite and fungal overgrowth within the small intestine which can definitely produce bloating and gas.

Herbs make excellent anti-fungals and anti-parasitics and a programme was tailored to assist the stomach in the digestion of food, remove the intolerances and parasite and re-establish bacterial balance. A follow-up email highlighted the bloating had virtually been eliminated within 3 days, although Miss K did continue with the programme for the full 6 weeks. She is now ‘bloating’ free.
