The Total Thyroid Screen assesses thyroid function, including central gland activity, possible secondary gland involvement, hormone secretion and peripheral conversion of thyroxin (T4) to triiodothyronine (T3). In addition, levels of auto-antibodies are measured to determine whether there is any underlying thyroid auto-immunity. Reverse T3 can be included on request.
Sample Requirements: 1 x 10ml serum sample
