BLOATING, SINUS/ SKIN PROBLEMS, FATIGUE
Candida Albicans is a naturally occuring yeast species that is found in the large intestine, genital tract, mouth and throat. Under normal conditions, it is compatible with good health and usually kept under control by beneficial bacterial flora, the immune system and proper intestinal pH.
Under certain circumstances, Candida can become pathogenic and may overgrow, leading to a pronounced immunological reaction. This can cause a wide variety of symptoms ranging from fatigue, brain fog, lack of concentration, mood swings, joint and muscle aches, bloating, diarrhoea, constipation, flatulence, local fungal infections including recurrent thrush, decreased libido, bladder infections, menstrual complaints, dry itchy skin, acne and sinus problems to name but a few.
Poor dietary choices, frequent antibiotic use and high stress levels are all common culprits which can disrupt the protective bacterial flora of the digestive tract and allow this yeast to easily proliferate. The analytes used in this test can detect antibodies produced against many types of candida species.
