Gout
Gout is a type of arthritis whereby uric acid crystals deposit in joints, tendons and kidneys causing pain and inflammation. Crystals form when the body makes too much uric acid, or when urinary excretion is impaired. Crystal arthoropathies collect in the tissues in or around joints. Crystals are formed of uric acid - a waste material derived from the breakdown of rich foods such as liver, kidneys, anchovies and red meats or game.
Influenza vaccination injections may trigger acute gout in some people or it may be caused by medication - known as an iatrogenic illness - one which has been caused by prescription drugs. Hydrochlorothiazide is known to cause increase in levels of uric acid in the blood leading to gout.
We have had much success in helping people to reduce their 'gout medications'. We carry out a series of tests using the 'Health Detective' Screening System and initially identify if Vitamin and Mineral levels are balanced.
We do this as at a cellular level, fluids need to be able to move freely in and out of a cell but in order to do so there needs to be the correct balance of essential fatty acids, magnesium, calcium, potassium and sodium.
We also check for hydrochloric acid levels to ensure the body is digesting properly. We then check for Food intolerances as any culprit foods should be avoided for a few weeks.
Your pH levels are checked and a programme tailored that may include foot baths, compresses, juicing, a short detoxification period and herbal remedies.
Diet - Low protein, low fat, low salt. Nettle tea. Plenty of water. Eat bananas for potassium & oily fish. A vegetarian diet would be very helpful. No tea, coffee or alcohol
Please telephone or email to book an appointment and ask for a 'Food intolerances' test. This takes about an hour.
We have a number of specific products available on our On-line Shop 'Aches & Pains'. If you are unsure which product would be most beneficial for you, please contact us and we will be pleased to advise.
