Eczema

Eczema

Eczema covers a wide range of skin conditions. Skin becomes inflamed, dry, itchy and thickened. Itching occurs in nearly all forms of eczema and the urge to scratch can be overwhelming. Redness is usually present and can fluctuate, appearing bright red at some times of the day while at others it is barely noticeable. Eczema is usually dry, making the skin feel rough, scaly and some-times thickened. Dryness reduces the protective quality of the skin, making it less effective at protecting against heat, cold, fluid loss and bacterial infection.

Eczema is one of the most common skin disorders. Studies by general practitioners suggest that around 30 per cent of all people with skin problems have eczema. Of those referred to hospital with skin problems, about 20 per cent have eczema in some form. Atopic eczema is the most common form, particularly in children, affecting 10-20 per cent to some extent.

Eczema can be triggered by poor immune function, asthma, hay fever, urticaria and migraine. The most common trigger is food sensitivity.

We have had much success using a Food Intolerance test to identify possible offending foods and a Vitamin & Mineral test to establish exactly which essential nutrients are lacking.

Many of our clients bring children or babies with this condition to the Clinic and we have had huge success in helping to relieve the discomfort or completely clearing the eczema. See Case History.
In adults we often combine the above tests with Colonic Hydrotherapy as we have found that a detoxification period alongside correct nutrient intake and diet, helps the skin to regenerate and results are often seen after 4-6 of weeks. Colonic Hydrotherapy may not appeal to everyone and we can discuss other methods of detoxification during a Screening.

Please telephone or email to book an appointment for a 'Food/ Vitamin and Mineral' test.

We have a number of specific products available on our On-line Shop under Skin. If you are unsure which product would be most beneficial for you, please contact us and we will be pleased to advise.
