Many of our clients have been prescribed numerous courses of antibiotics or even a low dose, long term course. We don't believe that antibiotics are the answer. We have found that there can be a number of reasons behind recurrent cystitis, and the best form of identification is through a Food/ Hormone/ Vitamin and Mineral test.
Some women find Cystitis is always worse leading up to menstruation and therefore we check all of the hormones (56) plus the endocrine glands to see if there is anything out of balance. This test is much more sensitive than blood tests as they only pick up 'the end result', the body can object for many months or years before making blood changes.
We have also found that many clients are actually intolerant to some of the foods that they are eating and once they have removed these foods, the body can stop putting all its energy into digestion and can actually start mopping up toxins.
The Vitamin and Mineral test is to ensure the body has the correct nutrients to allow healing to take place. Once the tests have been performed a short detoxification period may be suggested along with hormone balancing using herbs and the correct nutritional supplements.
