Cholesterol
Cholesterol is a fat-like substance essential to life. It is necessary for maintenance of the brain and glandular system and the production of bile salts and certain hormones. There are two kinds of cholesterol in human blood serum, one is beneficial (HDL) and one is 'bad' LDL cholesterol. Excesses can deposit on the artery walls causing a build up. Inflamed artery walls can cause thickened and narrowed blood vessels leading to restricted blood flow. This can result in high blood pressure and angina. The more meat and dairy products eaten the more cholesterol is produced.
High cholesterol may run in the family but if it has been acquired, there may be an imbalance in your diet or excess stress levels, the body may even be interpreting symptoms such as food sensitivities and dehydration as stress.
Many of our clients come to us because they wish to try a more natural route before resorting to medications. If your Doctor is happy for you to do this for several weeks before a recheck then you have nothing to lose.
We suggest a Food Sensitivity Test/ Hormone Imbalance and Vitamin & Mineral test. We do this using a State-of-the-art Screening System called the 'Health Detective'. This will assess if there are deficiencies in key nutrients such as lecithin and essential fats, it will check the adrenal glands for stress and will also check if Food Sensitivities are contributing to the issue. A Programme is then tailored and advice given on an adjustment of diet, possibly a short detoxification period and herbal or nutritional remedies may be prescribed.
Please telephone or email to book an appointment and ask for the 'Food/Hormone/Vitamin and Mineral Test'. This takes about an hour.
We have a number of specific products available on our On-line Shop under 'Circulatory System'. If you are unsure which product would be most beneficial for you, please contact us and we will be pleased to advise.
