Arthritis
Osteo-arthritis - A degenerative joint disease. The cartilage covering the ends of the bones deteriorates causing pain and loss of movement as bone rubs against bone.
Rheumatoid arthritis - An auto-immune disease in which the joint lining and surrounding tissues become inflamed causing deterioration and pain with limited movement. Other forms of arthritis include gout, ankylosing spondylitis, lupus and Still's disease
At Natural Practices we can investigate further using the 'Health Detective' Screening System to ascertain whether there are any other aggravating factors. With Rheumatoid Arthritis we have often found that food intolerances make the condition worse as they cause further inflammation in the joints. We have also found the presence of parasites, especially water amoebas as these travel within the bodily fluids. Frightening though this may seem, this is all incredibly common and can be easily corrected. We test using the 'Health Detective' Screening System which can accurately assess the presence of toxins. We also check for nutritional deficiencies with the Vitamin & Mineral Deficiency test. pH levels are tested via urine (a quick test done on the day) to assess your acidity levels.
A Programme is then tailored which may include a short detoxification period, introducing new foods into the diet, herbal and nutritional supplements and other helpful advice. Programmes generally last for about 6 weeks and so any herbs recommended are only taken for short periods in order to produce a healthy change.
We have had much success in reducing the pain of the different types of arthritis and even in stopping it in its tracks. See case history.
Please telephone or email and ask for an appointment for a 'Full Body Screening with Food/ Environmental Sensitivity, Vitamin & Mineral Deficiency '. This is a comprehensive test that takes about 2 hours. This helps to identify all the root causes to Arthritis, but some people start out with a basic test that can still be very useful which is the Food/ Vitamin and Mineral Test which is an hour.
