Allergy Management
What can I do if I am diagnosed with allergies?
An allergy is an over-reaction of the immune system and symptoms may include: asthma, eczema, IBS, skin problems, poor concentration and sleep difficulties. Your allergy test results will show you what substances your body reacts to and will suggest avoiding them altogether for a period of time. This may mean making major changes in your lifestyle to avoid them, and some allergens - like pollens - are impossible to avoid. Even if you do manage to, it can still take a long time for the body to repair itself and get back to normal.
Is there anything I can do to speed up this process?
While you reduce exposure to pollutants and allergens, you can work on strengthening your system at the same time. This means making sure that you are eating a varied and adequate diet, and you will reduce your chemical intake if you buy organic and cook from fresh as much as possible. Regular aerobic exercise stimulates the lymph system and encourages the cells to release their toxins for the body to excrete, but do check with your GP if you haven't exercised for some time. Make sure you are drinking plenty of good, clean water to dilute the toxins and minimise your risk of unpleasant reactions.
I can't avoid my allergens, what can I do?
Health Kinesiology (HK) includes a correction for allergy which helps the body to recognise the energy pattern of identified substances so that they can be processed smoothly. It's particularly useful for environmental substances like pollens, widely distributed food phenolics, vital medications, body substances like candida and heavy metals. However it can't always be done straight away - often the body needs to do preparatory work beforehand because it may dump toxins afterwards.
How will HK treat my allergies?
We will use muscle-testing to find the smoothest healing route for you as an individual, so there is no set pattern to follow. However, looking at people I've helped already, it is likely that over a period of time we will:
- Work out how to change your diet and lifestyle
- Strengthen the body's brain-body connection to help it to process efficiently
- Assess the eliminative pathways and boost them where necessary
- Improve your body's ability to recognise the energy pattern of identified substances, so that it can deal with them appropriately
- Free up the body's resources to process smoothly by releasing unnecessary stress patterns
- Work out tolerance levels and raise them if necessary to improve day-to-day functioning
I didn't used to be allergic to all these things, what happened?
The body is really a chemical-processing plant and while it all runs smoothly we don't experience allergic reactions. However our total exposure to chemicals in food, air and water supplies may begin to overload our capacity to process. And lifestyle plays a big part, because for instance, stress causes the body to change the balance in the endocrine system, which may leave us less able to cope with external factors. Developments in agriculture and food-processing also affect us as so many different chemicals are used in modern agribusiness and all have to be metabolised out of the body. At the same time we may be becoming deficient in essential trace minerals, all of which are necessary for proper metabolism.
